Total Body Mapping
New AI-driven lesion assessment service at Hamilton Skin Cancer Centre.

Spending more time outdoors means increased exposure to the sun, and monitoring your skin for any developments, such as new moles or changes to existing ones, is more important than ever.
The Hamilton Skin Cancer Centre team are excited to introduce a new Total Body Mapping service complimenting your regular skin checks. This additional AI-driven service, enhances the early detection of new and changing lesions, ensuring we deliver the highest quality care to you.
Total Body Mapping is ideal for those at high risk of melanoma, or for people with multiple moles or skin lesions.
Track Skin Changes with AI
Total Body Mapping creates high-resolution standardised images of your skin. Baseline images are taken at the initial appointment, then at subsequent body maps the AI capability will compare the old and new images to find new, changing or growing lesions. The AI capability can also be used to assess individual lesions, providing the doctor with additional information to guide treatment.

Total Body Mapping: What to Know
Total Body Mapping is not covered by insurance, although your skin check or lesion treatment may be, depending on your policy. It is not a standalone skin cancer screening – a skin check is still required.
If you attend our Naevus Mole Mapping service, Total Body Mapping is already included. Existing patients don’t need to take any action; we’ll contact you when you’re due. It’s best done alongside your next skin check.
Important preparation for your body map: Please avoid fake tan, makeup, nail polish, sunscreen, jewellery, and brightly coloured or patterned underwear, as these can affect the AI. Using a non-tinted moisturiser, however, is helpful and encouraged.
If you haven't booked yet, now’s a great time.
